Grand Rapids Public Museum is pleased to announce that individual tickets for the highly anticipated BODIES REVEALED exhibition go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Viewed by millions worldwide, the exhibition features real, whole and partial body specimens that have been meticulously dissected and preserved following their documented donation to science. Through this respectful display, visitors will have a unique opportunity to get an up-close look inside the skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, and other anatomical systems, as well as learn how lifestyle choices directly affect our health as a whole.
A non-member adult ticket is $15, with reduced prices for members, seniors, and children. Tickets will be available at www.grmuseum.org, by phone at (616) 456-3977, or at the Museum’s front desk at 272 Pearl Street NW. BODIES REVEALED will be open through May 1, 2011 in the Museum’s Lacks Gallery.
Local health care providers, including medical doctors, anatomy professors and the like, will be present during the exhibit’s busiest viewing hours to interact with guests and further enhance their learning process.
The Museum plans an extensive array of programming, including a health sciences career fair, a lecture series, and public programs. The programs, appropriate for all ages, will extend the learning experience beyond the exhibit hall.
The Museum’s ultimate goal in bringing this phenomenal exhibition to Grand Rapids is to foster education in the health sciences and inspire the next generation of health care workers who will be crucial to the support of the region’s burgeoning health sciences corridor.
