Holland Chorale presents Nicholas Loren Competition Showcase on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. inside the Holland Area Arts Council. Everyone is invited to enjoy the phenomenal vocal talent of the finalists who competed in the 2010 competition.
Winners and finalists that will perform at the concert are: Noelle Kelly, soprano — winner; Jeff Peerbolt, bass-baritone — winner; Sarah Brown, soprano and Sandra Maytan, mezzo-soprano — honorable mention; and finalists Trent Broussard, baritone; Katrina Van Maanen, soprano; Lindsay Olszewski, soprano; Christine Amon, mezzo-soprano; Melissa VandenBrink, soprano.
Tickets can be purchased by calling (616) 494-0256 or by going to www.hollandchorale.org. They can also be purchased in person at 150 E. Eighth St. The cost is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and $12 for students. Tickets will also be sold at the door on the day of the performance.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Holland Chorale presents “Starting in Holland …bound for Carnegie Hall.” This event is a Board of Trustees’ fundraiser to kick off the 51st season at the Piper.
Dinner will be served at the Piper Restaurant, located at 2225 South Shore Dr. in Macatawa. Reservations start at 5 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Guests will order from the menu, and 20 percent goes directly to the Chorale. For special cocktails and desserts for $25, $20 goes directly to the Chorale.
A raffle will be held for a travel package for two to Carnegie Hall on March 27-29. This includes airfare, two nights of lodging, taxes, and two tickets to a Chorale performance. With a total value of $1,500, tickets will be sold for $50. To make dinner reservations, please call the Piper at (616) 335-5866.
